Connecting Tomorrow's Leaders With History's Witnesses
Ambassadors to History reconnects young people with those who lived through pivotal moments in the twentieth century. Real voices. Real places. Real responsibility.
"Ambassadors to History does not just connect youth with the past. We empower them to shape the future by understanding that courage, sacrifice, civic duty are not historical abstractions but living choices that each generation must make anew."

Who We Are
Ambassadors to History serves as a bridge between generations. The initiative links students with Veterans, Survivors, Witnesses who carry lived memory of conflict, liberation, resistance, civic courage. Students listen in person. Students learn to document testimony with precision. Students reflect on the human cost of freedom.
The work begins with the Second World War. Normandy. Anzio. Pearl Harbor. The Holocaust. The Blitz. Witnesses reach very advanced age. Memory sits within a short window. Ambassadors to History responds to this moment with structured preparation, guided encounters, thoughtful reflection.
The mission then extends to other turning points in the twentieth century. Velvet Revolution. Troubles in Ireland. Collapse of the Berlin Wall. Each story exposes choices that shaped democratic life. Each encounter invites students to see history as a living responsibility.
Why This Work Matters
Many young people receive history through short clips, fast feeds, distant commentary. Voices with firsthand experience fade from public view. A vital link between memory and democracy weakens.
Ambassadors to History places students in direct conversation with those who served, resisted, survived. Students meet individuals who faced risk, loss, moral conflict, duty to community. This contact changes how students view leadership, citizenship, service. Lessons move from abstract idea to personal call.
Families see growth in confidence, communication, direction. Educators see richer engagement with coursework. Supporters see a clear path to preserve living memory with measurable impact.

Present to schools, share testimonies, design civic projects
Students then travel to Normandy for a five day field experience during the D Day anniversary period. They walk Omaha Beach. They visit key cemeteries, museums, towns. They meet Veterans who return to that ground. They listen to French citizens whose families lived through occupation, liberation, rebuilding.
Upon return, each student steps into an ambassador role. Students present to schools. Students share recorded testimonies. Students design civic projects that extend the experience into local life. Each participant leaves with tangible outcomes, personal growth, richer perspective on leadership.
